Console in lacquered and gilded wood, Marche, early 18th century, Baroque period Measurements: cm L max 107 (L front 100) x D 56 x H 73 Price: private negotiation Object accompanied by a certificate of authenticity This elegant Baroque console was made in the early 18th century, during the Baroque period. Called "¾", it has particular dimensions, as it is slightly lower than traditional consoles, favoring its placement. Its wooden structure is entirely lacquered and gilded. The top, wider at the back and with a slightly curved and gilded profile, is lacquered in faux marble with an ocher reserve. The undertop band, equipped with a drawer with a chiseled bronze escutcheon in the shape of a mask, ends with a carved mixtilinear profile with a very decorative gilded edge characteristic of the Baroque period. The legs are arched and curved, carved with gilded phytomorphic motifs. The particular feet are decorated with carved and gilded volutes and acanthus leaves. The small dimensions and the delicate curved line of its profile make this console very decorative and easily insertable into any furnishing context. Very beautiful presented in a living room or in an entrance, it can be supported by an antique mirror or a painting, antique or modern. It can also be used to display vases, clocks or candlesticks, or as a desk having a top slightly lower than a traditional console. The gold and light coloring make it suitable both next to antique and modern furnishings.
