Pair of important neoclassical gueridons in lacquered and gilded wood. Measurements: h 126 x max diameter 44 cm; diameter at the top 33 cm Price: price upon request Object accompanied by a certificate of authenticity This refined pair of gueridons was made in Italy towards the end of the eighteenth century, in the Neoclassical period. The two elegant and graceful tripods, tall and narrow, have a carved, lacquered and gilded wooden structure. The top, decorated with faux marble, is round and circumscribed by an openwork frame with geometric motifs. The underlying band has carving, in some parts openwork, phytomorphic decorations in relief and three bas-relief sculptures in the shape of a goat's head, characteristic of the era. Near the heads, three sinuous and slightly wavy legs depart, ending with a goat's hoof foot. At the most convex point of the legs there is a circular connection on which rests a wooden element sculpted in the shape of a classicizing vase and a summit element with leafy motifs. The gueridons, very decorative and bright, are perfect in any environment, from the entrance to the living room, in a study or in a bedroom. Lamps, sculptures, bronzes or even vases with plants and flowers can be placed on top of them. Beautiful side by side, interspersed with another piece of furniture, or even exhibited individually, near a corner or in the center of a room.
