Pair of large Neoclassical vases in gilded bronze, Italy, late 18th century Measurements: cm H 80 x W 34 Price: confidential negotiation Object accompanied by a certificate of authenticity The pair of neoclassical vases was made in Italy at the end of the 18th century in finely chiseled bronze. With classic taste, the vases are ribbed at the top and bottom and have particular lateral handles with leafy decorations. The plinth base is very particular and of great inventiveness. There are several overlapping and offset parallelepipeds that create movement and a pleasant decorative effect. Above and below the plinth, with starry decorations, two elements simulate the shape of a book. Everything rests on a wooden base lacquered to look like porphyry. These vases, unusual and difficult to find on the market both for their overall design and for their large size, are particularly ornamental. They can be placed on bases or columns, chests of drawers or consoles or coffee tables. The classic taste makes them very modern and suitable to be combined with both antique and contemporary furnishings.
